When can I expect delivery?

Cape Town, Durban, Gauteng: 10 Days | Other areas: 12 Days | Sorry, no delivery to outlying areas and farms.

For a 50 000 Litre of pool water, a dose of 2kg to 6kg Africhem Boost & Buffer at a time will normally be sufficient but that entire depends on the actual TA and pH levels.  Total Alkalinity is seen as a "buffering agent" that help to reduce pH fluctuation.

Ideal level of TA in swimming pool water is between 80 and 120ppm (parts per million) and that of pH from 7.2 to 7.8

Use Aquachek Professional or our 5-in-1 test strips to quickly check the level of TA in your pool.

Dosage and treatment:

  • Test the TA level
  • Determine the amount of Africhem Boost & Buffer according to the instruction on packaging
  • Mix Africhem Boost & Buffer in a bucket with water and add to the deep end of your swimming pool
  • Retest the TA after 48 hours of continuous water circulation by the pump
  • If the TA is correct, add 2kg Africhem Boost & Buffer at a time
  • pH reacts quick and you may retest it level after 8 hours of continuous water circulation by the pump

Keeping the correct level pH (potential of hydrogen) is essential to keep the water clean, safe, balanced and healthy for swimmers.  Chlorine also works at its best to sanitise the water when the TA and pH levels are correct.
