Preparation:

  • Surfaces must be clean and dry before painting
  • Thick coatings take longer to through dry and thus to overcoat
  • De-grease, clean and apply one coat red oxide or grey metal primer on metal surfaces before applying enamel topcoats

Painting of old surfaces:

  • Enamel paint: Strip off and treat as new work.
  • Old enamel: Abrade lightly and re-coat

Enamel is also suitable to be used on wood.
