Africhem's Calcium Chloride keeps your calcium hardness at proper levels at all times to help protect your pool, water, and pool equipment. Africhem Calcium Chloride raises the hardness level of water. Low hardness levels cause pitting in marblte pools and high levels lead to calcium buildup on equipment etc. - See more at: http://www.allpoolsolutionsshop.co.za/pCALCIUM4KG/Calcium-Chloride-4kg.aspx#sthash.5mLvF9VB.dpuf

    Africhem Calcium Chloride

Raises Calcium Hardness • Protects Pool Surfaces • Balances Water Chemistry

Africhem Calcium Chloride is a water-balancing chemical used to increase the calcium hardness in swimming pool water — an essential step to prevent corrosion and extend the life of your pool surface and equipment.

Low calcium levels can cause pitting, etching, and premature wear on marblite, plaster, grouting, and metal components. On the other hand, excessive calcium hardness can lead to white scale deposits, cloudy water, and visible build-up on waterline mosaics.

To maintain your pool’s surface integrity and overall water balance, it’s vital to test and adjust hardness levels regularly. For best results, use Aquachek Silver Test Strips monthly or at least every six months.

    When to Use

    • To correct low calcium hardness in newly plastered or marblite pools
    • To raise low calcium levels caused by soft or rain-diluted water
    • As part of routine water balance maintenance

    Key Benefits

    • ✔ Safely increases calcium hardness
    • ✔ Prevents corrosion of metal fittings and pool equipment
    • ✔ Protects marblite, plaster, and grout from pitting and etching
    • ✔ Contributes to balanced, long-lasting pool water
    • ✔ Easy to measure and dissolve

    Ideal Range

Maintain calcium hardness between 200–300 ppm (up to 500 ppm for marblite pools) for optimal protection and performance.

    Important Notes

    • Always test water hardness before dosing to prevent over-correction.
    • High calcium levels may cause white scale or deposits on waterline mosaics — use Africhem Mosaic Wonder to remove these.
    • “Hard water” refers to water with a high mineral content, primarily calcium and magnesium.
    • High calcium lead to calcium build-up, i.e. white substance become visible if mosaic tiles are installed on waterline. To remove excess calcium or white marks of, use Mosaic Wonder
