Heat your swimming pool naturally with Sun Command Solar Pool Heating Panels. These durable flat solar collectors are made from solid polypropylene and are designed to harness the sun’s energy to warm your pool water efficiently and affordably.

Each panel features a 50mm inlet and outlet header that channels water through multiple small internal passages for excellent heat transfer. When combined with a pool cover and correctly sized filtration system, Sun Command can typically raise pool water temperature by 8 to 12°C, helping extend the swimming season to up to 9 months of the year in suitable conditions.

This is one of the most practical ways to heat a swimming pool in South Africa. There are no rising electricity costs from a conventional heater, no complicated fuel requirements, and minimal ongoing running costs. It is a smart long-term solution for homeowners who want warmer water and more time in the pool.

For most recreational swimmers, a pool temperature of 28°C to 32°C delivers the best comfort.

Recommended Sizing for 3m Panels

Small jetted pools, spas and Jacuzzis.

This setup can reduce pump circulation time to as little as 3 hours per day during warmer months. A temperature controller is recommended for spas and small heated bodies of water to help prevent temperatures from exceeding 35°C, as excessive heat can damage PVC plumbing components.

How Sun Command Works

Pool water is circulated from the filtration system through the solar panels, where it is heated by the sun before returning to the pool. The panel design allows water to pass through small channels, increasing the contact area for better heat absorption. For the best results, pair the system with a pool cover, which helps reduce heat loss overnight and during windy conditions.

Warranty

Conditional carry-in warranty: 5 years

Warranty is subject to the following installation requirements:

1. Panels must be installed with a backing sheet

2. Installation must ensure the panels drain all water when the pump is not running

Failure to meet these conditions can shorten the lifespan of the system and may affect warranty cover.

Why a Pool Cover Matters

A solar heating system performs far better when used with a pool cover. Without a cover, a large amount of gained heat is lost through evaporation, especially at night. A cover helps retain heat, improve efficiency, and reduce the number of panels needed for the same result.
