Why Total Alkalinity Is Critical to test

Recommended Dosage Guidelines

As a general rule:

• Use approximately 2kg to increase TA by 10ppm per 50 000 litres of water.

Always test first before adjusting.

How to Dose Correctly

1. Test the Total Alkalinity level using reliable test strips such as AquaChek Professional or 5-in-1 test strips.
2. Determine the required amount according to packaging instructions.
3. Mix Africhem Boost & Buffer in a bucket of water.
4. Add the solution to the deep end of the pool with the pump running.
5. Allow 48 hours of continuous circulation before retesting TA.
6. If further correction is needed, add 2kg at a time until TA is within range.
7. pH reacts faster — retest pH after 8 hours of continuous circulation.

Accurate testing and gradual correction prevent over-adjustment.
