How solar pool heating works:

Flat panels or collectors harvests the sun's heating energy (the panels gets very warm in the sun).

Pool water is pumped from the pool through a filter and then into the panels where heat gets transferred to the water. The flat solid panels have a 50mm inlet and outlet header that divide the water stream through small channels to gain maximize heat transfer. The heated water then returns to the swimming pool, gradually raising its temperature.

Sun Command collectors are made of solid polypropylene which is a plastic-like material.

Several factors influence how efficient solar pool heating systems are:

• Location and Sunlight: More direct sunlight leads to better heating
• Collector Area: More panels means a bigger heat collection area and the more heat the system can capture 
• Pool Cover: Using a pool cover, especially at night, helps retain the heat and minimizes heat loss.
